Grow: Trauma-Informed Pastoral Care

Thursday, November 16, 6:00 pm (Mountain Time)

Free, Online

Everyone is talking about trauma these days. What is trauma? What does trauma-informed pastoral care look like? What do pastors and ministry leaders need to be aware of? And how might we want to adapt our pastoral care practices to better meet the needs of those who have experienced trauma?

Join us for this workshop to learn more about what trauma is, how trauma impacts us, and tools we can use in pastoral care.

Presenter: Abby Buter

Soul Care Retreat Days

Star of the North Retreat Center, St. Albert

Date: Offered Quarterly. New Dates Announced Soon.

Cost: $55 for individuals, with discounts for ministry teams and spouses

These retreat days are designed for those in ministry, those training for ministry, those retired from ministry, and spouses. Spend a day away from the demands of ministry life and reconnect with God. We’ll begin with a contemplative prayer practice, followed by a morning of silence. During this time you have space to walk, journal, create art, read, and rest. We’ll gather together for lunch (you are free to remain in silence, if you wish) and then engage in another contemplative practice. The afternoon offers more space for personal prayer, reflection, and rest. We’ll end with a closing circle.

Lunch, snacks, coffee, and retreat materials are included in the price.

You can also opt to add a private guest room to your reservation for the day.

To receive an email when dates are finalized and registration opens, add your name to our list.

Creating Healthy Rhythms in the Demanding Life of Ministry

Online

Cost: TBA

Next Session: Fall 2023

When a pastor shares that they haven’t had a day off in weeks, we think that’s a clue that something’s not healthy.

We get it. There are so many expectations on you. And you want to meet them, or even exceed them. The needs are never-ending. And it’s not like someone else can simply step in and do what you do.

So how can you create healthy boundaries and still do the work you’re called to do? How can you enjoy a sabbath or create other rhythms in your week that allow you to thrive? How can you live differently if your church has a go-go-go culture?

How can you refuse to be a workaholic pastor?

This interactive workshop invites you:

  • to identify where you are,

  • explore why you work the way you do,

  • and begin a plan to move forward.

This isn’t a cookie-cutter list of solutions; we take a coaching approach to help you name what you need. We’ll weave in space for personal reflection and group interaction.

*Pastor: We use this language for anyone who finds themselves in ministry. You might use the language of minister, chaplain, coordinator, or director.
