Let’s Build Healthy Teams

We want your ministry team to thrive.

If you have been part of a church staff, ministry team, or elder’s board, you know the difference a healthy team can make.

What does a healthy team look like?

Wouldn’t you love to be part of a team where every member feels valued and knows they are contributing to the mission of the ministry?

Wouldn’t you love to be part of a team where communication is clear and conflict is dealt with openly and honestly?

Wouldn’t you love to be part of a team that is seeking to discern God’s leading together?

Wouldn’t you love to be part of a team that can laugh together, as well as cry together?

Starting Strong

Part of building healthy teams is to be intentional about starting strong. Each time a new person joins a team, dynamics shift and the team exists in a new way. What does your team need in order to start strong? How will you welcome and enfold new team members?

We can meet with your team once or several times to help you identify and establish the patterns and culture you desire to create.

We will help your team get off on the right foot.

Discerning Together

Part of working as a ministry team means seeking God’s call together. Are you asking big questions about values, vision, and identity? Or do you have a specific question you are sorting out, such as should you build a new building, create a new position, or offer another worship service?

Discerning together is a different experience than personal discernment. Many times, it’s done poorly: the loudest voices or those who hold the most power sway the decision, even if unintentionally. What does it look like to listen together for God’s call?

We can lead your team through a discernment process.

Working Through Challenges

Sometimes teams made up of the most wonderful individuals still face challenges. Communication suffers, tensions build, conflicts get suppressed, work gets siloed, or people feel alienated. Teams that avoid dealing with these things, become more unhealthy.

Teams that work through these challenges thrive and become stronger. It helps to have someone objective coach you through these situations.

We can help you grow through the hard seasons.

Growing Together Through Shared Experiences

Some of the healthiest teams we’ve known are those that spend time together outside of regular meetings. The opportunity to laugh, share stories, and be together outside of work impacts the way teams function.

It can be as simple as a backyard BBQ or a crazy gift exchange at a Christmas party.

If you are looking for something a bit more robust, let us plan a longer experience for you.

A day hike. A backpacking trip. A retreat.

We will custom design the experience to fit the needs of your team.

Recently our team had a brainstorming session of all the things we’d like to accomplish in the year to come, but we had more good ideas than we knew we had capacity to execute and were unsure where our focus should be. So we called Julianne, and she led us through a day long prayerful discernment practice where she skillfully helped us as a team listen to God and to each other. She created space for us to listen well, but also kept us moving gently so we didn’t get stuck. The process and steps she prepared and walked us through, helped us focus our planning on a few annual goals and actions that as a team we felt confident reflected how God had formed us as a team. I have been part of teams that made annual plans in ministry for over 20 years and Julianne’s involvement this year was extraordinarily helpful. I would highly recommend her facilitation of any team looking for some help in the listening, and prayerful discernment process!
