Women in Ministry Retreat

Location: King’s Fold Retreat Centre outside of Cochrane, Alberta

Cost: $385 for shared occupancy, $475 for single.

This retreat isn’t a “sit and listen to a speaker” kind of retreat. Instead, picture yourself nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with other women in ministry, eating delicious food, walking through the beautiful retreat centre grounds, reading by the fire, or creating art in the Green House.

Our time together will include contemplative practices, listening circles, times of silence, and rich conversation. We anticipate laughter, connection, rest, and space to connect with God.

Your facilitators will be Julianne Gilchrist and Pamela Ukrainetz.

Grow: Hospital Visits: A Refresher

Free, online. Part of our Grow Workshop Series.

Are you a ministry leader in your community or church? Do you find yourself occasionally visiting hospitals and long-term care centres to provide support and comfort to those who are sick or aging?Pastoral visits hold immense importance, providing spiritual support and comfort during times of vulnerability and uncertainty.

This workshop aims to equip ministry leaders like you with the necessary tools and insights to make these visits even more impactful.

Why attend the Hospital Visits: A Refresher?

1. Learn from the Experts: Our panel of experienced chaplains have spent years working alongside patients, understanding their needs, and providing meaningful support during their hospital stays. They will share their expertise, wisdom, and personal anecdotes, ensuring you gain invaluable knowledge.

2. Brush Up on Skills: Whether you're a seasoned ministry professional or just starting out, this workshop will empower you to refine your skills. We will cover various aspects of pastoral visits, including how to prepare, what a visit might look like, resources you can access, and tips for becoming more comfortable in a hospital setting.

3. Build confidence: Engaging with patients and their families in a hospital setting can be challenging. This workshop aims to help you feel more comfortable the next time you step into a hospital room for a pastoral visit.

 4. Ask your questions: What is it you have always wondered about when you do a hospital visit? While we will ask our panel of chaplains a series of prepared questions, you will have a chance to ask those things that are most pressing on your mind.
