The Busy Mom Retreat: Connection Focus

The Busy Mom Retreat is designed to help moms carve out space in their busy lives to rest, reflect, and spend time with God. We’ll start the retreat by taking stock of where we are. During the second week, we’ll reflect on our identity. We’ll end the retreat by asking and listening to see if there might be anything particular that God is inviting us to be or do in this season of life. In all of that, the retreat is designed to provide opportunities for you to spend time alone with God, sometimes simply resting in God’s presence. It’s about being more than doing, about reflecting more than acquiring information.

The Connection Focus is designed for moms who not only want to carve out time for their spiritual life, but also desire to connect with other moms. We’ll create our own little virtual community during this retreat where you can share the joys and challenges you’re facing. We’ll laugh, encourage each other, and hear bits of each other’s stories. I can’t wait to start this group with you!

With the Connection Focus of this retreat, you will receive:

  • Weekly Spiritual Practices delivered to your inbox, as well as access to audio versions of those same practices.

  • Email access to a Spiritual Director to answer any questions and pray for you.

  • Weekly Journal Prompts

  • Daily emails of a verse and a very short reflection during the second week of the retreat focusing on identity.

  • Access to a Weekly Evening Prayer Video

  • A one-hour spiritual direction session via online video conferencing

PLUS:

  • The ability to participate with others in an Opening Circle (a time to introduce ourselves and share a bit about where we are and what we are hoping for in this retreat) via video conferencing. The Opening Circle will take place on Sunday, February 3 at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

  • Connection throughout the retreat with other participants and the retreat host using the Voxer app. (If you haven’t used Voxer before, it does require a free app download. This app enables the group to leave each other voice and text messages). This will be the main way that participants get to know each other, share what they are learning, and encourage each other. I will use Voxer throughout the retreat to ask questions and share brief reflections.

  • The ability to participate in a Closing Circle with the other retreat participants in the Connection Focus group. During this time you will have the chance to share how you have experienced God during the retreat and hear what the retreat has meant to others in the group. It is a wonderful way to end the retreat and sends us back into the every day routines with a blessing. The Closing Circle will take place on Sunday, February 24th at 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

NOTE: This option will only be offered if 4 or more people register for it. If less than 4 register, you may choose to join the Direction Focus or the Reflection Focus options of the retreat and will be refunded the difference.

If this all sounds amazing, but you aren’t ready to jump in quite so deep, check out the Direction Focus and the Reflection Focus. All three options run at the same time and use the same content, but offer different levels of involvement.
